Conference video and audio tapes??

Postby djv » Wed Mar 03, 2004 8:43 pm

As I was looking at the revised schedule, I wondered whether the sessions would be video taped again? As expected, i want to go to two session that are running at the same time.

I also have the same conflict. DBS, if you aren't, can we? I have 2 HI-8 camcorders and can copy the filming to VHS if we need to. Just would need someone to watch the alternate camcorder from session I am in.
Wouldn't be professional but better than nothing. I would give the original tapes to MDI and only want a copy of each session for myself.

Perhaps they can change the schedule if they know what most people have a conflict with. The conflict I have is the Renewable Energy at the same time as Energy Efficiency.

Changing the schedule wouldn't make a difference. I also want to see both of those but I would like to see at least one session in each of the other time frames so I would still have a conflict.

One of the regular attendee has professional equipment including duplication equipment so audio tapes are available by the end of Saturday.
I would like to know whether they would be attending this year.

EPI Center is recording all sessions on audio tape and will videotape one class out of each breakout session and all general sessions. They have the tapes ready at the end of the show for you to bring home. The cost is quite reasonable.

We have learned over the past ten conferences that allowing everyone to record the sessions is distracting at best. Therefore, only EPI Center is authorized to record the conference.

On the other hand, you may bring video and still cameras to take pictures during the tour.

As always, we appreciate everyone's understanding and cooperation.

Videotaping only one session?

Postby Anonymous » Wed Mar 10, 2004 5:25 pm

They are only videotaping one session of each? :?:

This is my first time to this conference but I already know that for the Thursday 11:30 - 12:20 Breakout Sessions I want to attend all four.
Is there not enough demand for these sessions on videotape vs. audiotape?
Are the sessions comprised of all talking with no presentations? If there are no visuals to go with the discussion then I can understand not videotaping but if there is anything visual I would prefer to see it.

Either way I think this is going to be great.

Thanks for any info.

I believe it is just a husband and wife team so trying to video tape all four is not possible. With audio, you basically set it and forget it.

Audio is fine for presenters with no visual aids but ,we found in doing seminar training tapes, that if we just take a camcorder on tripod and focused on the visual presentation with audio it was extremely effective.
Since we won't have video. It would be great if the presenters with visual aids would make those available to attendees some way.
