My photos from the 2007 Conference tour at MDI

My "15 minutes of Fame!" I'm the fat guy in the yellow shirt:

I have my photos from the Saturday tour put up on my web site:

I lost about 30 pictures due to a shutter-cover malfunction on my digital camera.

Is the pattern on the outside of the domes done with paint only or colored stucco?

Nice pictures, Kevin. And it's nice to put a face to a familiar name.

The patterning is stucco, with paint or stain applied later. The colors on the "brick" walk are 100% siliconized concrete stain.

Here are some closeups of one of the office domes

This one was being stuccoed while I attended the workshop in May of 06. I didn't see the coloration until the conference tour.

Being coated:

Being scored for the "stone" effect:

Finished view:

The larger versions of the photos that you view when you click on one of the photos on http://www.kevingoebel.com/dome/confere ... rence.html are still reductions of the camera images. For example, conference158.jpg is 187K and the thumbnail is 14K in size. The original photo image, IMG_1155.JPG is 2014K in size. I posted smaller-than-camera versions to the web to reduce download time and manage my bandwidth usage. If you need to be able to enlarge the view to see finer detail than the web version of one of my photos will enlarge to show, I could e-mail you the camera image.

Nice photos! It's really nice to "see" how light they are inside. Is the conference/workshops offered every year?

They usually have four workshops a year. The details are on their web site.

One conference a year, as far as I know always in February.

Thanks for posting the pictures Kevin, it's great to see some of those structures I have been viewing from afar over the years close up.
