Cladagh Dome:

We thank you for your BBS comments, Your Web Page and all. You have done a great job. I know you will feel good about it forever. I am still stunned by how we want the newest technology for some of our life and not in others. Every day on the news when they show a house or apartment or or that has burned, I think why not use 21st century technology and eliminate even the possibility. As I take my wife flower watching I pass the Ugly Houses that are still sort of standing, rotten, dilapidated and generally vacant and I wonder when we will realize that building the same old way is going to get the same old result.

I congratulate you. The new rules by the lenders will set us back another bunch of years as the financing is now virtually gone. Only the samo samo will now get financed -- for that I am frustrated and sorry.

Good Luck to you, I am proud of you. David

Dear David and Monolithic,
Thank you for your kind comments. We are happy with our dome home and the fact that we were able to do most of it ourselves. Thanks for all your help and advice along the way:along with many others on this forum. I would like to encourage future dome builders to not get discourage about financing. Sometimes you have to think out of the box to get to live outside a box. The road may be a bit harder and take a bit longer but the end product will be worth it! We sacrificed some comfort and lived with alot of choas to be able to afford the building of our dome and though then it seemed like a long time, now it seems the dome has been finished out and furnished for years which it has not. The good will out weigh the bad with an end product that will save you for generations.
Keep working towards your dreams,
Christine and Jim

Hello Eric,
This is the foam product that we used. http://www.fomo.com/handi-foam-two-component.aspx
Jim said that it sprayed nice and it was easy to work with.
Hope this answers your question,
Christine

Hello All,
Wow! It has been over a year since we have posted anything. We have not been sitting idle, just have not kept up on the website. I have goods news...the website has had a facelift and there are many new pictures of our recent projects. There are completed pictures of the cottage, a new section that has the master bedroom back porch, a new section about the chicken coop that we started, the hall bathroom upstairs has been remodeled and there are some new pictures in the news section. As you will see we have been busy around the dome. Hope that you enjoy the new pictures.
Happy Fall to All,
Christine and Jim

Hello All,
My son has made our dome on a popular game for kids called "Minecraft".
I thought you all, kids included, might like to check it out. It is as round as square blocks can get!

Hope you enjoy it and let us kow what you think,

Very cool, but Minecraft is hardly a game for kids. The only reason I don't play it myself is that the field of view gives me a headache after about 30 seconds. You should try it out; it's pretty addicting.

Hi All
We have been busy redecorating our living room. In the process of trying to find just the right couch we decided to just make our own. So, in our website there is a new section called "rounded couch". This is a couch fit for a dome home! It was hard but fun to do. Let us know what you think.
Take care,
Christine and Jim

I dropped by your web page to take a look at your couch. Very nice. Maybe you should get into the business of making furniture. So much of what I've seen is poorly made & won't last. They make up for the poor quality by over charging.

Looks like you'll have that for many years to come.

CONGRATS :D

That's awesome! We're going to need to do something like that in the middle level of our tower.

Glad that you like it.
I guess when you have built a dome you feel like you can give anything a try. HAHA!
Too bad you don't live closer, Greg, or we could help you build one.
Thanks for taking the time to look at our projects.
