Hey Greg,

Nice pictures. Can't wait to see more. Is that your airform in the bundle? It looks so sad laying there on the floor, wishing it could be up on the wall where it can see the view it was sent all the way up there to be part of  and get to show off it's best profile  to the neighbors. You must be excited each time you drive up and know whats next 8-) .

Ya that's my airform, I wonder if I should store it in a warm place since it is rolled up?

Hey Greg,

If your planning on waiting until spring to go forward, you should put it away where it is protected. If nothing else, just to keep it from walking off. I know things are safer in Alaska, compared to the scum we must protect our property against down here, but it is a lot of money to leave laying around. Are you planning on having someone on site over the winter to keep kids and others away? The reason I asked is for insurance purposes, just in case some kid climbs up on the wall and falls. They could get hurt or stuck tangled in the rebar. That was one of my concerns about getting the dome on as soon as possible. I hate to sound like I'm giving you things to worry about, but these are things you should think about anytime you are building something. I just want to see you successfully get this done.

Greg, everything is looking good.I would put the airform somewhere out of the cold.It doesnt seem to me a good thing to let something flexable/rubberized rolled up like that go through freeze thaw cycles.Especially as cold as it can get where your at.Matt

Hey Matt,

Thats kinda what I was trying to say also. I just left out the damage part. I've already said as much about the walls needing to be protected from the freeze/thaw cycles. If the concrete was a hot mix, it might cure enough before the freeze/thaw cycles start, that they will be fine. I can't say for sure though. I know it doesn't get as cold as it did where I lived, about three hundred plus miles due north of Wasilla, in Delta Junction. Greg should know a lot about getting cold, given the fact that he works on the north slope.

Thanks Matt!

I used type 3 (high early) concrete with a glenium additive, no need to worry about the walls.
