Banks do not want to be stuck with a pink elephant in case they must foreclose. GOOD NEWS for anyone interested in moving to FLORIDA or building a spec dome is that I have properties near the ocean between Daytona Beach and St Augustine that will meet the lenders comparable requirements. Interested Call me 954 370 7944

If I'm not mistaken there are comparable in Florida for domes. This is just another case of lenders being lazy. There aren't always comparable for stick built homes. Yet they still manage to get loans. I would rather have a home that would withstand the local weather than these bovine excrement homes built by our local home builders. They build crap & give a 1 year warranty. :(

Just my 2 cents....

Well I was needing something around the Pensacola area, I think the bank is wanting something around a fifty mile radius and within the last year. I might call that number anyway and find out. Thanks.

Guys,

I have not chimed in on these posts in the past because I am not really at the point that I am looking for a loan and cannot really add much to the discussion.

I just wanted to let you know that The White House does not have a dome. It has a round-ish section that is flat-roofed. The Capitol Building (congress) has the dome.

Good discussion on lenders, tho. I am also somewhat frustrated by the apparent lack of lenders for this kind of home. When I do get around to building a dome, I will probably need a loan to get it done and it looks like that will be tough. It galls me to think that such a viable technology in terms of longevity and durability is being sunk on asthetics. This situation really illustrates how shallow Americans truly are.

Unfortunately, the situation has been exacerbated by a soft housing/lending market since 2008. I am hoping that MD can weather the storm and things will loosen up a bit at some point in the future. We may have to see a total collapse of our economic system first. If that happens, however, we would all be safer in MD's.
