underground levels.

Did you recently discover Monolithic Domes? Post your questions here.

underground levels.

I have been looking at dome structures for a special application building. The dome we were thinking about would be 4 or 5 stories high and we would like to have some of the stories underground(2-3 stories). Would the dome survive earth pressure or the structure would not tolerate that. Further, more one side of the structure would be covered with the earth that was removed to dig the hole so it would look like a regular hill. It is feasible or not? If so what would I need.

Thanks

Jay

I can already see what is coming in the next few posts.

1. It is feasible; but is it cost effective?

2. What are the goals that this structure should achieve? Can you find a more cost effective method to achieve the same goals?

3. Consult a designer.
