Land Requirements

Postby dwdwone » Mon Sep 01, 2008 1:56 pm

Hi. Can anyone tell me what kind of land requirements we'd need to consider when building a dome? For example, issues I've heard that a lot has to be commercially leveled. Is this true? Is there anyonthing else you typically have to consider? Soil type? Availability of water and electricity? I know to stay away from HOAs and check zoning. Anything else to look out for?

Thanks,

Dan

There really aren't any requirements that common sense wouldn't cover. No "commercial leveling" requirement. The structures have a well spread and balanced load, so they can be built on soil types that would challenge a lesser house, though good bearing soil certainly simplifies construction. Look for things like drainage to avoid flood situations, driveway access, clear title, utility access, easements, problem neighbors, water rights, and all the other normal stuff.
